Surviving are two daughters, Renée Rogers of Columbia, MD and Rheta Rogers of Fredericksburg, Virginia, one granddaughter, Lauren Rogers-Cook of Columbia, MD, two brothers, Ray Rogers of Atlanta, GA, Mark Rogers of Miami, FL, and two sisters, Jane Hyatt of Sarasota, FL and Dale Dotson of Cleveland, TN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Sara graduated from high school at Red Oak High School in Buncombe County and she attended college at Western Carolina University. She lived in California, Germany and Maryland before retiring in Crabtree, NC. She was an active member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, in Crabtree, where she was a member of the choir.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church with Reverend Kitty Crain officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
