SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VET DIES AT THE AGE OF 62

Pearl Miner, 62, passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Oscar McCullough, south of Moulton, Sunday.
Mr. Miner was born in Davis County, near Coatsville, and was the son of John and Eliza Miner.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. McCullough and Mrs. Margaret Barr of Coatsville, and one brother, Geo. Miner, of Centerville.
Deceased had been living at the home of his sister for the past two years. Previously he had been a patient
in the Veterans hospital in Ohio. For 27 years he was a trusted employee of the Standard Oil Company of Ohio.
Mr. Miner was a Spanish American war veteran having served with Troop G, Cavalry, 3rd Regiment from June 1898 to July 1902.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in charge of Rev. Luther Childs, of Centerville, at the Coatsville Baptist
church. Spanish American and World War veterans were pall bearers. Military honors were given at the grave by a squad from the Centerville National Guard. Burial was in Coatsville cemetery.
