Benneville and Mary also gave birth to two sons who died as infants in 20 July 1820 and 1826. They had the following: Gen William High, Mathilda High, Col. John High, Esther High, Isaac High, Benneville High, Emily Susan, and Sarah Ann Keim.
Benneville was the President of Farmers Bank in Reading from 1824 to 1843, and served three years as the mayor of Reading, 1858 to 1860. In addition to banking, he was also a manufacturer, and later opened his own hardware store. With his nephew George M. Keim, in 1836, he founded the iron industry in Reading.
He died 30 Oct 1872 in Reading, Berks Co., PA. He was buried 1872 in Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading, Berks Co., PA.
