Anthony J. Burger founded American Auto Wrecking on Elyria Ave. in Lorain, and owned it until he retired in 1971.
He previously worked as a mill wright for U.S. Steel Corp. in Lorain.
He was born in Essen, Germany, and had lived in Lorain since 1928.
As a younster he played soccer with the Lorain Liederatafel Club.Later, Tony a hunting and fishing enthusiast, became a member of the Beaver Creek Hunt Club.
He also enjoyed traveling and collecting coins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine in 1982.
Survivors include his daughter Sally Persinger and son Anthony; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and six sisters.
Tony was a wonderful friend.
