Endicott, Clifford Olds and Louis "Buddy" Costin lived 16 days in the fresh water pumping station known as A-111. When the West Virginia was dry docked in 1942. Salvage workers found the remains of three sailors along with flashlight batteries, rations and a callendar with 16 days X'd out.
