He was the son of Dewey B. and Mary V. Stanton and the husband of Helen Marie Zelinsky Stanton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and World War II, and was a retired structural engineer with McDonnell-Douglas Corporation. He was also a Mason and a member of the Elk Club and the Eagle Club.
He survived by two brothers and five sisters.
