Butte, Mont.--John A. Elliott, one of those who saw Butte when a few rude
cabins dotted the hills and when tents contained the hardy prospectors of
early days, died at Sweet Springs, Missouri, where he went last October in
search of health. He was 62 years of age and for some time before death
suffered much in health.
He was born in Missouri and with his wife came to Montana in the early days. He is survived by his wife in Butte
