RALPH INGRAM MOORE

ABBEVILLE. . .Ralph Ingram Moore, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, died early Friday evening, May 29, 2009, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. He was 95. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P. M. Sunday, May 31, 2009, in the Rock Springs Baptist Church, near LaFayette, Alabama in Chambers County, with Reverend Charles Whitson and Revered James Caulfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P. M. Sunday in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rock Springs Baptist Church, c/o Sandra Royster, 4056 County Road 62, LaFayette, Alabama 36862 or to the First Baptist Church of Abbeville, P.O. Box 606, Abbeville, Alabama 36310.

Mr. Moore was born and reared in Chambers County, Alabama, son of the late Olin G. Moore and Addie Davis Moore. He lived all his life in the Rock Springs community before moving to Abbeville in 2000. Mr. Moore was a member and Deacon in the Rock Springs Baptist Church where he served in many other capacities as well. He was a retired employee of WestPoint Stevens in Lanett, Alabama. Mr. Moore was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Julia Carlisle Moore, two sisters, Iris Yates and Alva Moore and three brothers, Leroy Moore, William Moore and David Moore.

Surviving relatives include his daughter, Judy Saunders and husband, Earl G. Saunders, Jr., two grandsons, Michael Peyton Saunders, John Ralph Saunders and wife, Abby Saunders and one great-grandson, John Lewis Saunders, all of Abbeville; several nieces and nephews.
