Helen Lois Ewers (nee Cimperman) of Lorain, died, May 4, 2002, at Fairview Hospital, Cleveland, following a long illness.
She was born in Cleveland and had lived in Lorain since 1954.
She was a graduate of St. Vitus School, Cleveland and St. John's School of Nursing.
She was a registered nurse, working in various hospitals and retiring in 1979 from the Lorain Health Department as a visiting nurse. She worked as a part-time school nurse after retiring.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Lorain, Slovenian Club and Italian-American Veterans. She enjoyed theater,
traveling, camping, music, dancing and reading.
Surviors include her husband of 50 years, Judge Robert A. Ewers; sons William and Raymond both of Lorain; daughters Deborah Ewers of Lorain, Susan Pelini of Westlake, Katherine Pasalacqua of Bay Village and Mary Ellen Ewers-Pena of Avon Lake; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents , John and Mary (nee Kalus) Cimperman; sisters Jennie Bocar, Bertha Glau, Mimi Vehar and Anna Vuk; and brothers Frank, John, Louis and Tony Cimperman.
