Funeral services for Mrs. Medora Peters Lenow, widow of the late Henry J. Lenow and mother of 13 children, who died at her residence 1012 Waverly, late Monday night, will be held at 10 o'clock this morning in the McDowell & Monteverde chapel with the Rev. M.L. Tate, rector of Holy Trinity Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery following the services. Pallbearers will be Ceylon B. Frazer, W.R. Holden, Robert H Bolding, J.F. Block, Will Harrington, E.C. Stout, R.B. Strong and R.L. Moore. A native of Memphis, Mrs. Lenow, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George B. Peters, had lived here practically the entire 63 years of her life. As a young girl she attended a convent in St. Louis and soon after her return she married Mr. Lenow, who for many years was a cashier of the old State National Bank. Death came to her husband nearly five years ago after more than 48 years of married life. Mrs. Lenow was a staunch Episcopalian, and while never joining the church here, she was always prominently identified with church movements. Her entire family was brought up in the Episcopal Church. Surviving her are the following children: Mrs. Medora Salter and Mrs. Nell Hansen of Macon, Miss.; Francis J. Lenow of Ancon, Panama; Capt. C.B. Lenow, Fort Meade, Md.; Robert Lenow, New Orleans; Arandel Lenow, San Antonio; and Henry J. Lenow Jr., William Lenow, Mrs. Lois Wallins, Mrs. Flora Martin, Mrs. Helen Guerin and Miss Lucy Lenow, all of Memphis. Also surviving Mrs. Lenow is a sister, Mrs. Kate Helden of Memphis. A daughter, Mrs. Kate Guerin of Ancon, Panama, preceded her mother in death. (Published in The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, TN, on October 28, 1931)
