Kristi Peterson nee Knutson was born in Krodsherred, Norway June 9, 1868. Was baptized and confirmed in the Olbergs Lutheran Church of the same place. In the Spring of 1889 she immigrated to America and came to her sister, Mrs. P Paulson, Traill County. January 9, 1892 she was married to Mr. Peter Peterson and located on the farm which has been their homestead since. They have had eight children, three of whom are dead, namely; Albert, who was killed in the World War, twin sister Clara who died in infancy, Clarence, who died January 23, 1928, and Geneva, who died in March 1909.
The others who together with their father survive her are: Clara; Sarah, (Mrs. Rugsven); Dena (Mrs. M. Evans); Agnes and Emil. Besides her immediate family, 3 sisters mourn her loss, Mrs. P Paulson and Mrs. O Braathen of Mayville and Mrs. R Myre of Hatton.
Mrs. Peterson died Saturday morning at about 5 o'clock. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Gran Lutheran Church. Rev. Hj. S Froiland officiated. A large number of friends and neighbors had come to pay their last respects. Beautiful flowers decked the casket and stands. Two "Minde kranse" were also given which the family pass on to benevolences.
Interment was made in the Church cemetery.
