She was born June 25, 1931, in Deweese, Neb., to Enos and Elizabeth Proskoskie Flajsinger. She attended Tipton Public Schools. She married Vernon "Red Rider" Southerland on April 30, 1949, in Vernon, Texas. He died May 22, 2000. She had worked at Centra Leather Goods in Frederick for many years.
Survivors include a sister, Maxine Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Albert Flajsinger; and three sisters: Francie Rogers, Eva Ramirez and Dorothy Ritchie.
