OBITUARY, Bloomington [IN] Herald-Telephone, Wednesday, April 17, 1985:

Lowell W. Pruet, 75, of Bloomington, died this morning at Bloomington Hospital.

Born April 19, 1909, in Rush County, he was the son of Bernie and Mae (Croddy) Pruet. He was retired from the Indiana Division of Natural Resources, where he served as director of land acquisition. He had also been a farmer and had served from 1950-54 as a trustee of Noble Township in Rush County. He was a member of New Salem Methodist Church, but had attended the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church while in Bloomington; a 50-year member of Orange Mason Lodge 234; and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Andersonville.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet M. (Dawson) Pruet; one son, William L. Pruet of Bloomington; one brother, Robert B. Pruet of Danville; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas G. Pruet; and a half brother, Donald Croddy.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Moster & Sons Mortuary in Rushville with the Rev. Tom Ellsworth officiating. Entombment will be in the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum in Rushville.

Friends may call 2-9 p.m. Thursday at Day Mortuary and 3-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at Moster & Sons Mortuary in Rushville.

Former Rush County resident Lowell W. Pruet died early Wednesday at the Bloomington Hospital. He was 75.

Pruet was born in Rush County April 19, 1909, to Bernie and Mae [Croddy] Pruet. He served as Noble Township Trustee from 1950-54 and was a retired Director of Land Acquisition of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

A member of the New Salem United Methodist Church, Pruet was a 50-year member of both the Orange Masonic Lodge No. 254 and the Andersonville Order of the Eastern Star.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Moster and Cox Mortuary, Rushville, with Rev. Thomas Ellsworth presiding. Entombment is in the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum, Rushville. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday. Masonic services are 7 p.m.
