He was a Revolutionary War Veteran. He served as a private of militia at the 'alarm' at Lexington in 1775 for ten days serving in Captain Samuel Stone's company of minutemen. Another record states he was a minute man at the Lexington Alarm, and served as lieutenant, 1776, from Middlesex county.
