JoAnn Tammen was born February 5, 1947 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma the daughter of Walter Henry and Ruth Catherine (Ostergaard) Tammen. She died at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa on Saturday, May 23, 2009. She was 62 years of age.
JoAnn was a 1965 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. She received a Bachelors of Science degree in Home Economics in 1969 and later her Master Degree in Clothing Construction both from Oklahoma State University. JoAnn lived all of her life in the Broken Arrow area. She spent one year teaching school in Silverton, Colorado. JoAnn worked for St. Francis hospital as a Medical Transcriptionist. She enjoyed Sewing, Knitting, Reading and Ceramics.
JoAnn was a very Artistic Lady who loved doing thing for others. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. The family requests memorials to Animal Aide of Tulsa, 3307 E. 15th St., Tulsa, OK 74112 or The Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141.
She is survived by, Sister, Cathy Tammen, Broken Arrow, OK; Aunts, Edna Brown, Roseville, CA; Kathryn Tammen, Redman, WA.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and a twin brother, Joseph Allen Tammen.
