Isaac Newton January died at the home of his son, Chester January, in the Trammel district north of Gentry Monday afternoon. He was 80 years old. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. A.H. DuLaney, pastor of the Gentry M.E. church, followed by interment in the Bloomfield cemetery under the direction of Carpenter's. The deceased was one of the old settlers of this county, coming here in 1854 at the age of four years from Tennessee, his birthplace. He held a wide acquaintance in Benton county. His wife, Tennie January, preceded him in death seven years. He is survived by two sons, Chester of near Gentry, and J. F. January of Ponca City, Okla.
