Bertha Jean Whitehead Tuckett, our dear sweet wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away suddenly and painlessly on May 20, 2009. She resided at 4291 South 3960 West in the Granger area of West Valley City, Utah at the time of her death.

She was born in Murray, Utah on December 12, 1925 to Wilford E. and Dagmar Julia Aamodt Whitehead.

Married James Holden Tuckett on December 29, 1945 in Elko, Nevada and sealed to her eternal companion and sweetheart on August 14, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel. She served in many church callings and especially loved teaching Sunday School to the 12 year olds.

She was involved for many years with the Utah Association of the Blind. Her inability to see never stopped her from living life to its fullest. She had a fiery personality and loved to talk and tell stories.

She used her vivid imagination to make up stories to tell her children and grandchildren. She was known for her sense of humor. She was a compassionate listener and always willing to be a friend. She made friends where ever she went. She loved to knit and shared that talent with many.

She made many beautiful items for friends, family and charities. Above all she loved her husband, Holden. They have had the ideal marriage, it has been an example to her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was always the most important thing in her life.

She is survived by her husband, James Holden Tuckett; six children: James W. Tuckett (Becky), Claudia Call (Dale), Kathie Hancock (Don), Jack E. Tuckett (Dinah), Colleen Hansen (Jed) and Karla Winks (Ron); 28 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Wilford Elmer (Bill) Whitehead.
