Funeral services for Joseph Alexandria White, age 62 years, 4 months, and 18 days, who died at his home in South Winnfield Wednesday noon, May 20, 1942, were held at the Gorham Cemetery at 3, Thursday afternoon, with the Rev. C. M. Robinson, officiating.

Mr. White was born at Dodson, January 2, 1880, and was a lifelong resident of this parish. He first married Miss Tava Gorham April 22, 1900, and six children were born to this union, five of whom survive. They are David White, Corine Edwards, Mrs. J. B.(Clara) Wallace, Mrs. Jack Richards, and Tech. Sgt. Joe White. Mrs. White succumbed in 1918.

His second marriage was to Miss Armainda [sic Arminda] Tarver Gilmore and to this union seven children were born, six of whom survive. They are Mrs. Margie Gordon, Robeline, Cecil, Huey P., Arnold, Elda Lee, and Betty Joe. He also leaves two step children, Mrs. C. Branch and Leland Gilmore of Montgomery; fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. T. V. Taylor of W. Monroe, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. White was a member of the South Winnfield Baptist Church, having been baptized on October 16, 1937.
