Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Brownfield Funeral Home in Brownfield, Texas, with the Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Cemetery.
Candy was born Jan. 25, 1962, in Littlefield to Don and Patsy Dowdy. She moved as a child to Amarillo, Texas, where she attended schools and graduated form Amarillo High School in 1980. She then attended Amarillo College, where she received her degree in radiology. She worked at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital for many years as an X-ray technician.
Candy married Sam Long on Feb. 24, 2003, in Las Vegas. She worked for Thunderbird Hospital in Glendale until the time of her death. Candy greatly loved her friends and family and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Long; a son, Devin Danielson of Amarillo; two daughters, Lyndsey and Chelsey Danielson, both of Glendale; her parents, Don and Patsy Dowdy of Amarillo; a brother, Don Dowdy and wife Kim of Amarillo; a sister, Leann Williams and husband Michael of Amarillo; two stepsons, Zane Long of Amarillo and Matthew Long of Lubbock, Texas; a stepdaughter, Anissa Long of Middleton, Calif.; two nieces, Candice Reyes and husband Bobby of Brownfield and Kaitlin Williams of Amarillo; two nephews, Morgan Dowdy and Kai Williams, both of Amarillo; a great-niece; a great-nephew; and numerous aunts and uncles.
