Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Gillen, of Morgan Avenue, who died at 6:55pm at St. John's Hospital, will be held at 11am Monday. Rev. Donald J. Finley will officiate. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery.

She was born in Springfield February 19, 1902, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Norman. Prior to 1941, she had operated the Edith Gillen barbeque restaurant and tavern for several years. Mrs. Gillen resided in Springfield most of her life, but lived in Havana the last two years.

She had been in failing health for sometime, but became seriously ill the day she returned to Springfield from Havana.

She is survived by her husband Claude; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Borden, Evergreen Park; two sons, Claude G. Jr., Chicago, and Wayne G., Plainfield; two brothers, Earnest Norman and Ray Norman, both of Springfield; six sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Merritt, Arlington Heights; Mrs. Betty Bennett, Hornbeak, TN; Mrs. Delia Newell, Columbus, OH; Mrs. Mildred Long, Mrs. Olive Allen and Mrs. Elsie Bowman, all of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ellinger & Kunz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
