Wesley Nyles [Lietch] Spurlock was born to Stella Moore and Frank Lietch. Wesley Nyles Lietch and his sister, Dolores Mae were adopted by his mother's second husband, Thomas Wesley Spurlock,Sr after their marriage and their surnames changed to Spurlock.
Nyles married Katie Morris on August 18, 1955 in Lake Charles, LA and they had four children: Wesley, Jr. , Tammy, Suzie and Buzzy.

W. Nyles Spurlock, Sr. was born February 3rd, 1935 in Atlanta Georgia to Stella Moore and Frank Leitch. He married his life long love Katie (Morris) Spurlock of Lake Charles, La. on August 18th, 1955 and they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in August of this year.
He graduated from McNeese State University with a BS, ME and ED.S in 1973. Mr. Spurlock moved to Kerrville, TX. in 1988 and was a school administrator at Tivy High School until 1997 at which point he retired from a lifelong pursuit of educating young people.
He passed away October 11th, 2006 at Methodist Heart Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio, TX at the age of 71.
In his free time Nyles enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, the Senior Olympics and most of all spending time with his family.
He survived by his wife Katie; sister Sylvia Doorman and her husband Scott of Jackson, MS; brother Tommy and Brenda of Alaska; son Wesley Jr. "Skip" and Wife Beverlee Spurlock of Norco, CA; Daughter Tammy Gettman and Husband Ron of Grand Junction, CO. Daughter Suzie Robinett and Husband Larry of Kerrville; Daughter Buzzy Stocks and Husband Mike of Rock Springs, WY. As well as his 15 grandchildren; Jay, Julie, Wesley III, Rebecca, Rachel, Nick, Ashley, Robin, Jenny, Jordan, Jessica, Kenny, Jake, Katie, Megan, and 3 great-grandchildren; Tristan, Sasha and Chase; and many other loving family member. His services will be at Grimes Funeral Chapels at 3pm on Saturday October 14th.
