Everett was the son of William Bruce Luster and Lillie May Hall. He married Mabel Mildred Terwilliger on February 16, 1916. He was a lifelong farmer in the New Ross area. He was a member of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, and past master of the Masonic Lodge, and a past patron of the Eastern Star.

Everett was survived by his wife, a brother Thomas, and four sisters, Lala Haines, Mary Shaver, Lola Kembel, and Mabel Snell.
