Joshua is likely a son of Joshua Sr, but he was not the Joshua/Edmund Brantley born Nov 15, 1811. That man was clearly the son of Jesse Brantley and is shown so in the will of Jesse in 1842. That Edmund (b Nov 15, 1811), died in Georgia in 1836. His wife (Sarah Thompson) and children followed the Brantley family to Arkansas. There is a report of a son Joshua Jr., but that report says young Joshua died in an accident at age 16.
