Yvonne Elizabeth Fox, 82, of Grants Pass died June 8, 2005, following knee replacement surgery.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church. A cryptside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City. Chapel of the Valley-L.B. Hall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Humane Society, 429 N.W. Scenic Drive, Grants Pass, OR 97526.

She was born Yvonne Elizabeth Higham on Aug. 1, 1922, in Trenton, N.J. On Sept. 19, 1942, in Trenton, she married Lloyd George Fox, who died in 1982. For 10 years during the 1940s, they owned Fox Trucking, which operated 14 logging trucks.

For more than 30 years, they also owned and operated Brookings Supply and Napa Auto Parts in Brookings. They retired in 1981 and moved to Grants Pass in 1984.

She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the Democratic Women's Club and the Elk's Emblem Club, for which she was the state grand marshal in the early 1980s. She enjoyed painting with watercolors and some of her work was displayed at the Grants Pass Museum of Art. She also enjoyed traveling and her cats.

Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne L. Fox of Central Point and Yvette Fox of Olympia, Wash.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
