Born at Plum Hollow on September 26, 1925, he was the son of Leonard Knapp and Laura Moulton of Athens, who survives him.
He lived in Plum Hollow all his life, working as a mechanic for City Bus Lines in Brockville. In 1954 he worked as a mechanic at Elgin Street and in 1971 went to work for Tackaberry Construction, where he remained until his death. His main interests were farming and auto mechanics.
He is survived by his wife Mavis Crummy, who he married at the parsonage of Athens United Church on December 4, 1948. He is survived by his mother, Laura Knapp, two sons, Wayne and Bill of Plum Hollow and by a daughter, Mrs. Ken Armstrong (Jane) of RR 3, Brockville. Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters: James of RR 4 Athens; Charles of Smiths Falls; Mrs. James Whitmore (Helen) of Frankville; Mrs. George Johnson (Vera) of Athens; Mrs. Glen Crummy (Mary) of Frankford; and Mrs. Wilbert (Barbara) Hamilton of RR 4 Brockville. He was predeceased by two sisters, Rita Peterson of Maitland and Velma Knapp in infancy.
Friends and family called on Monday evening. The funeral was held at the Judson Funeral Home in Athens on Tuesday, November 26, at 2 p.m. Reverend Susan Steers of Christ Church Athens officiated.
Pallbearers were Terry Knapp, Ron Knapp. Ken Knapp. Grant Knapp. Harold Knapp and Joe Knapp.
Internment was in the Plum Hollow Cemetery.
