Contributed by Rich - Bonnie Jean Carter was born on May 27, 1934, to Eugene and Bernice (Carpenter) Anderson in Alta. She graduated from Fairview High School.

Bonnie was united in marriage to Melvin Carter on October 8, 1966 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alta. This union was blessed with seven sons, Steve, Lynn, Tim, Marty, Tony, Terry, and Aubrey and two daughters, Tammy and Lesley.

Bonnie worked over 30 years in the purchasing department at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed camping, deer hunting with family, and wintering with friends in Brownsville, Texas. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and her dog, Angel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin on September 18, 1983; one brother, Larry Anderson; one niece, Wendy Anderson; and one grand nephew, Trevor Anderson.

Bonnie passed away on January 7 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
