The following is from a bio of Crawford E. Selner found in "Standard History of Elkhart Co, IN, vol 2, pages 911-912. I am researching the Selner family. Hope it helps someone on this board. I would love to have contact with anyone that might have photo of Lydia Slabaugh, her siblings or parents etc. We have located a photo of Crawford Selner taken between 1897-1910.

"On November 28, 1889, Mr. Selner married Lydia C. Slabaugh. She was born at Ravenna, Ohio. Her father, John Slabaugh, was a native of Ohio, and his parents came from Pennsylvania and were early settlers in Ohio. Mrs. Selner's father enlisted, February 6, 1865, in Company H of the 184th Infantry, and was in service until after the close of the war. He received his honorable discharge, September 20, 1865. Soon after the war he came to Elkhart County, buying a farm in Locke Township, on which he lived for a number of years, and subsequently sold out and homesteaded a tract of government land in Michigan. Having proved up his claim, he sold out to advantage, again lived in Indiana for a time, but spent his last days in Ohio. John Slabaugh married Eliza Bumbarger, who was born near Akron, Ohio, and who died in March 1914. She reared four children named Sarah A., Lydia C., Alvah and Renie, the last two being now deceased."
