LEONARD - Graveside services for Charles Douglas "C.D." Trusty, 88-year-old Leonard resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 29 at the Indian Creek Cemetery in Nobility with Charles E. Wrenn officiating. Mr. Trusty died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the Leonard Manor in Leonard.

Mr. Trusty was born on Aug. 24, 1920 in Nobility, the son of James Alford and Hattie Elizabeth Thomas Trusty. He graduated from Leonard High School. He married Doris London on July 25, 1949 in Bonham.

He worked as a structural iron worker and was a member of the Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Union Local 263 of Dallas/ Fort Worth for almost 60 years. He was a life member of the American Legion Post of Van Alstyne. He was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church and served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Trusty is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Trusty of Leonard; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Trusty; brothers, Tommy Trusty, Lewis Trusty, Billy Trusty and Howard Trusty; and sisters, Bessie Smith and Zelma Carpenter.

Family night will be from 7 -9 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel in Leonard.
