Byron Frailey Moon, 82, of Springfield, IL., died at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation. He was born October 26, 1926, in Decatur, the son of Geofrey and Faye (Frailey) Moon.

He married Dorothy Jane Williams in 1948 in Shelbyville.

He was a veteran of W.W. II, serving in the Army Air Corp in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre.

He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Springfield.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; son, Greg Moon of Springfield; daughter, Rebecca Beck of Chatham; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Darwin Moon.
