Smiths Falls - Anna May Myers, of RR 1 Toledo, died November 23 in hospital at Smiths Falls.
She was born September 2, 1921 to Coleman Morton Knapp and the former Addie Jane Ross. She was married to Thomas H. Myers, who died in 1982, The couple farmed at Portland for a couple of years after their marriage, then moved to the Smiths Falls area, where Mrs. Myers started working as a housekeeper at the North Unit of the Smiths Falls Hospital, remaining until she retired. Her special interests were crocheting, knitting, gardening and watching hockey games. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to church suppers in the district. Just months before her death, she had moved to the Toledo area to live in a home she had built last spring.
Mrs. Myers is survived by four daughters, Shirley Ann O'Grady, and her husband Larry of Lansdowne, Shelva Jean Desaulniers and her husband Wallace of Brockville, Sheena Talbot and her husband Harry of Toledo, and Darlene Mallette and her husband Jeff of Toledo, and three sons, Robert Myers of Toronto, Bill Myers and wife Sharon of Manotick and Dan of Smiths Falls, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Goldie Doran of Brockville and Eliza Healey of Toledo and one brother, Thomas Knapp of Athens.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Myers was predeceased by her brother Orre Knapp and two sons, Douglas and Orre Myers.
Friends called at the Blair and Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls, on November 24. The funeral was held November 25 at St. Phillip Neri Roman Catholic Church in Toledo with Father Rod McNeill officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery, Toledo.
