Lebanon - Gerold Edward Wetherell, 85, of Lebanon died Thursday at home.

Born in Staples, Minnesota, he was the son of Lee and Neva (Chapin) Wetherell. He grew up in Minnesota and moved to Sweet Home in 1938.

He married Edith Cowitz, July 6, 1940, in Vancouver, Washington they lived in Minnesota and Oregon throughout the years. Mr. Wetherell drove log trucks in Oregon and farmed in Minnesota. He retired in 1981, and they lived in Minnesota except in the Winter Months, when they lived in Lebanon.

Mrs. Wetherell died on December 31, 1998.

Mr. Wetherell enjoyed fishing, hunting and running hounds in his younger days.

Surviving are sons Rod Wetherell of Sweet Home and Richard Wetherell of Brainerd, Minnesota; brothers Loren Wetherell of Lebanon and Melvin Wetherell of Roseburg; and sisters Mildred Turk, Lillian Clark and Luella Moe, all of Lebanon.

Brother Clifford Wetherell and sister Opal Millis died earlier.

Mr. Wetherell's funeral will be at 11a.m. Tuesday at Huston-Jost Funeral Homr, with Pastor Milton Hopper officiating. Burial will be at Poplar Cemetery in Leader, Minnesota.
