MRS. CORA DAVIS
Mrs. Cora Davis, wife of D. W. Davis, died at her home in Hines, Iowa, on Saturday evening, October 9, 1909, after an illness of about three weeks with heart trouble.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Pearson, of Avery, were held at the Friends church in Hines on Tuesday at twelve o'clock, and the remains were brought to Chariton in the afternoon and interred in the Chariton cemetery, a brief service being conducted at the grave by Rev. M. S. Clark.
Cora Cottrell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Cottrell, was born in Wapello county on Jan. 13, 1872. When quite young she moved with her parents to Lucas county, residing near Cleveland until a year ago last spring when she moved to Hines.
She was married about nineteen years ago to D. W. Davis, who with three sons, survives her. A mother, two brothers and two sisters are also living. Deceased had been a member of the Baptist church for several years.
She was highly regarded by all who knew her and her demise will be mourned by a large circle of friends, who will extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
