A memorial service for Curtis Lee Goodwin, an Estacada resident, will be at 1p.m. Tuesday in the Estacada Funeral Chapel. A private inturment will follow in the George Cemetery, near Estacada.

Mr. Goodwin died of Cancer Thursday in a Gresham Care Center. He was 81.

He was born on May 20, 1911, in Portland and lived in the Portland and Estacada areas most of his life. Mr. Goodwin started his own truck operation known as Goodwin Logging.

He married Nedra E. Wiederhold on December 29, 1969, in Estacada. He retired from the trucking business in 1970. Mr. Goodwin raised hay and cattle until 1992.

Dying previously were his first wife, Alta Goodwin; son Donald Goodwin; and grandson Johnny, and sister Velda Petersen.

Besides his wife, survivors include stepsons, Roy Miller of Monmouth, and Joseph Wiederhold of White Salmon, Wash.; stepdaughters, Barbara Miller of Reno, Nev., Marcia Wood of Gresham, and Mary Schnase of Astoria; sisters, Leah Davis of Oregon City and Florabelle Winningham of Springfield; one grandson; eight stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-greandchildren.

The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the American Cancer Society, 0330 S.W. Curry St., Portland, Ore. 97201.
