Joyce Ward
WARD, JOYCE I.
Burton Passed away Saturday evening, December 14, 2013 at McLaren Health Care in Flint, age 96 years. Joyce was born on December 13, 1917 in Chesaning to the late Edwin R. and Henrietta (Ford) White. She was the youngest of nine children. She married Frank W. Ward on January 26, 1934. He passed away in 1985. Joyce was a member of New Haven Baptist Church of Burton. She was also a member of the Flint Poetry Forum and many of her poems were published. Joyce especially enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Those left to cherish her memory are three children; Cynthia (Richard) Lehman of Owosso, Garry Ward of Clio and Gaylord Ward of Burton; five grandchildren, April (Patrick) O'Driscoll, Amy (Len) Lindquist, Mark (Cheryl) Ward, Lamont (Ronda) Ward, Michael (Georgeann) Ward; also fourteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; five brothers and three sisters; daughter in law, Mary Ward and son in law, Bruce Hines. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19th, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at the Whelpley-Martin Funeral Home in New Lothrop. Pastor Larry Rednower will officiate with Burial in Easton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 until the time of service. Memorials are suggested to New Haven Baptist Church of Burton.
