NOTE: Recently found newspaper articles from the Aberdeen Herald printed on Monday, February 25, 1907 have led to the identification of his death date and probable cause of death.
One article states:
"In a clash between union and non-union sections of the stevedores in this city last August, A.A. Wahlgran was killed and Grant Wilson, a bar tender, badly wounded. Wilson so far recovered as to be supposed out of danger, but lately had to return to the hospital. On Friday morning he died, supposedly from the effects of the old wound. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon from the Aberdeen Undertaking Parlors, under the auspices of the Bartenders Union, Rev. C. McDermoth officiating. (found on page 5)
The second article is found on page 8 of the same paper and states:
The funeral service of Grant Wilson was held at the Bowes & Randolph parlors yesterday afternoon, Rev. C. McDermoth officiating. The Bartender's union and the seaman's union attended in a body. The remains were shipped to Snohomish this morning, in the care of the father and brother.
Please see the following note added by Karen Sipe in the photo caption:
According to the records in the cemetery office G. Wilson is buried in grave six, per the X. However, the temporary stone under the X is for L. A. Perkins who is suppose to be buried in grave 1. The marker in grave 1, far left is for N. B. Perkins. They are all buried within this grave lot location but the exact order is now in question.
