John Adam Palmer, age 49, of Ardmore, died on May 26, 2009, in Midwest City, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the McAlister Cemetery of Overbrook, Okla., with the Reverend Melvin Palmer officiating.
John was born in Ardmore on Dec. 16, 1960, to Raymond Palmer Sr. and Millie (Phillips) Palmer. He attended Ardmore Schools, leaving early after obtaining his G.E.D. He worked in Ardmore and throughout Texas. John went to work at Michelin until an injury forced him into early retirement. He was a Ceremonial Honor Dancer at Pow-Wows in his youth. He loved riding horses and being around his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Millie (Phillips) Palmer and his brothers, Raymond Palmer Jr., Jimmy Watson and David Glenn. He is survived by sisters, Glenda Linderman and husband Willie, Rebecca Collins and husband Jack, Norma Higginbotham of Ardmore and Lahoma Lowe of Tishomingo; brothers, Winston I. Palmer Sr. and James Lynn of Ardmore; and fiancé Pam Ezal of Oklahoma City.
Pallbearers are Conan Collins, Cecil Browning Higginbotham III, Christopher Harmon, Triton Collins, Winston Isaac Palmer Jr. and Billy Washburn.
