Axie Cornelia (Ledford) Reed, 74, of Asheville RFD 5, died in her home at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday- after a short illness.

Surviving are the husband, Ben Reed; three daughters, Mrs Edith Chapman and Mrs. Lillie Rhew of Asheville and Mrs. Oliver Trickey of Stockton, Calif.; a brother, Thurman Ledford of Asheville; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Jarrett and Mrs. Anna Rhew of Asheville; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Dunn and Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrange ments which were incomplete Wednesday night.
