Lumpkin – Hunt
Wedding Thursday
Mrs. Anna A. Lumpkin and Claude Hunt were united in marriage last Thursday evening at 9 o'clock, Judge L. E. Chaudoin officiating.
The ceremony took place in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Trout, and was witnessed by the bride's sister, Mrs. J. E. Brawley, Fox, Okla.; Mrs. L. H. Harmon, Pooleville, Mrs. H. M. Baxter, Chas Broaddrick and James Ayers, all of Davis. The couple left at once for a brief trip to Texas.
The bride moved to Davis last year and bought the Mrs. Ike Adler place. Mr. Hunt has been a resident of this city for many years and was in the grocery business until he sold out a short time ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Hunt will continue to reside in Davis.

ANNA A. GOUNAH LUMPKIN HUNT
Anna A. Gounah Lumpkin Hunt, 101, of Davis died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Burford Manor Nursing Home. Services are Tuesday (today) at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Davis with James Densman and Dr. David Eggenberg officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 7, 1902, to Iola (Cartwright) and Edgar Gounah in Pooleville, Indian Territory, where she grew up and attended school. She married John William Lumpkin on May 13, 1924. They established their first home in Graham and later moved to New London, Texas, where they continued to live until his death on Nov. 22, 1944. Shortly after, she moved to Davis where she met and married Homer Claude Hunt on Feb. 14, 1947. They owned and operated Hunt's Grocery in Davis. He also preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 1982.
Mrs. Hunt was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davis and faithfully served for 30 years in the church nursery. She was also a charter member of the Davis Rose Garden Club and a participant in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) from 1985 until 1997, serving in excess of 2,000 hours.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Lumpkin Jr.; two sisters, Mary Harmon and Vida Ayers, and three brothers, Edgar, Sam and Pete Gounah.
She is survived by four children, Frank W. Lumpkin of Scottsdale, Ariz., Helen Joyce Lumpkin and Virginia Lumpkin Rudd, both of Davis, and Deanie Hunt Watson of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Jaunita Hutchens, who was like a daughter to her, and many other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mike Rudd, John Rudd, Steve Rudd, Matt Watson, Jerry Lumpkin and Joey Lumpkin. Honorary pallbearers will be Deborah Burrows and Christy Watson Hill. Services are under the direction of Krien Funeral Home.
