Robert E. Thompson

Robert E. Thompson, 63, Rushville, died Saturday at Rush Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 25, 1936, in Waynesboro, Ky., the son of Charles and Myrtle A. (Jacobs) Thompson. He married Susan (Adams) Thompson in 1982, and she survives.

Mr. Thompson was owner and operator of Atwood/Thompson Countertop Installation.

Other survivors include three sons, John Thompson, Bobby Thompson and Chris Earman, all of Rushville; four daughters, Diana Custer, Kissimmee, Fla., Tina Godwin, Orlando, Fla., Debbie Raab, Rushville, and April Hannah, California; three brothers, Huston Thompson, Morristown, Albert Thompson, Seattle, and Kenneth "Butch" Thompson, Rushville; six sisters, Martha Berry, Bessie Bowling, Susie Thompson, Anna Mayse and Bonnie Foreman, all of Rushville, and Shirley Glover, Shelbyville; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Todd Funeral Home, Rushville, with the Rev. Rick Johnson officiating. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
