Born April 10, 1929, in Monroe County, he was the youngest child of Cornelius and Nettie (McGuire) Fielder.
He was a retired ironworker, having worked for Ironworkers Local 22, and always took great pride in the construction jobs he worked on. He loved hunting, his dogs, gardening and being a good neighbor and friend. He was a board member for Indian Creek Township Schools years ago and always welcomed a lively debate on politics with his opinions - those of the Democrat Party - always being the only correct ones. He was a member of the Westside Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two sons - Kenny Fielder, Jr., and wife Theresa of Bloomington, and Jim Fielder of Bloomington; Four grandchildren - Karen Denise Fielder Cunningham, Kenneth C. Fielder, III, Keith Christopher Fielder and Kent Edward Fielder; Eight Great-Grandchildren - Kara Dawn Kelley, Lucas Edward Kelley, Rusty James Cunningham, Brent James Fielder, Kenneth Keiffer Fielder, Tiana Elaine Hall, Cody Tyler McKinney and Christopher Bryant McKinney; his former wife, Dorothy Fielder of Spencer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings - two brothers, Frank Fielder and Fred Fielder; six sisters, Helen Barrow, Naomi Hacker, Thelma Jean Mobley, Pearl Fritch, Martha Randall and Margie Brown.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at the Day Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don English officiating. Burial will be in Little Union Cemetery.
