Irene Marie SIMONIN, 72, of 916 Pontiac St., died at 12:30 a.m. today at Canterbury Manor Nursing Home where she had been a patient for three weeks. She had been in failing health a year.
Mrs. Simonin was born May 22, 1908 in Seneth, Mo. Her adopted parents were Edward and Goldie KITTERMAN. She had lived most of her life in Rochester. She was married to Clarence SIMONIN, who died in Sept. 1975. She was a retired employee of Maggie's Restaurant. She was a member of the Nazarene Church of Rochester.
Surviving are a son, David Lee SIMONIN, Rochester; six daughters, Mrs. Fred (Joretta) MAIBAUER, Mrs. Delores CARPENTER, and Mrs. Loy (Arlene) SRIVER, all of Rochester; Mrs. Jack (Ellen) KITTERMAN, Lafayette; Mrs. Ed (Merlene) WINCLECHTER, Streamwood, Ill.; and Mrs. Carolyn Sue LENARDSON, Peru; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren, and a foster-brother, Basil KITTERMAN, Fowler. She was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home with the Rev. P. Lindsey FARIS officiating. Burial will be in the Citizens Cemetery, Rochester. Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials other than flowers may be made to the Woodlawn Hospital Cancer Detection Center.
