Mrs. Edna Ruth Swain
Mrs. Edna Ruth Swain, 88, formerly of Circleville, died Friday, April 5, at a Topeka nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Swain and her husband farmed most of their lives in the Soldier and Circleville communities.
She was born May 13, 1896, at Circleville, the daughter of Clay and Matilda Hollenbeck White.
Mrs. Swain was a member of First Christian Church and Circleville Chapter No. 293 of the Order of Eastern Star, both at Circleville.
She was married to Edgar C. Swain March 3, 1921, at Circleville. He died Sept. 10, 1965.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Grundeman, Mulvane, and Mrs. Nora Iwig, Tecumseh; two sons, Marvin Swain, Kansas City, Kan., and Floyd Swain, Topeka; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Circleville. Burial will be in Soldier Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church in care of Farmers State Bank, Circleville, 66416.
