He was preceased by a four year old sister Oct. 8,1918, his father on Oct. 9, 1918, and his mother on Oct. 10, 1918 in the 1918 flu epidemic. He was also preceased by a brother Jesse Riddick and his Grandmother Penelope Hayes Riddick and Aunt Nancy (Nannie) Riddick that raised him and his brother Jesse and sisters Carrie R. Bunch,Evelyn R. Snider/Johnson, and Nellie R. Freeman after the death of his parents during the 1918 flu epidemic.
