POPIVCHAK, Cecilia G. Brand, 90, of Toronto, died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at home. She was a retired employee of Carrollton Pottery and a member of St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church, Toronto. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thurston Brand, in 1939; her second husband, Michael Popivchak, in 1985; her parents, Joseph and Frances Kowalsky; two brothers; three sisters. Surviving are four sons, Thurston Brand, Alton Brand, Orvis Brand, and Joseph Popivchak, all of Toronto; three daughters, Shirley Stull of Steubenville, Irene Popivchak at home and Mrs. Robert (Wonnona "Sis") Peckens of Toronto; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. today at Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto. Blessing services will be held at 9 A.M. Thursday at Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto, followed by Solemn Divine liturgy at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment in Toronto Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church building fund, 814 N. Fifth St., Toronto, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
