Ole Frank (Apland) Aplin was born 31 Aug 1885 in Sheldahl, Story Co., IA, the son of Ole Breiflaat Apeland & Tina O Arndts. Like his brother, Charles, he changed the spelling of his last name from Apland to Aplin. He married Mary Annette Iverson 02 May 1907 in Mandan, Morton Co., ND. Ole and Mary lived in various places, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. Ole did some farming, but the majority of his working years he worked as grain buyer for Occident Elevator Company and later as superintendent. Ole and Mary retired in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. They had two sons. Ole lived alone in their house in Portland after Mary's death. When he was no longer able to keep up their big house, he sold it and moved to Bend to be near his son and family.
