Bessie Lee Pace Sherrill

Funeral for Bessie Lee Sherrill, 84, of Route 1 Decatur, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jack Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Sherrill died Thursday at Parkway Medical Center Hospital. She was a member of the North Alabama Nursing Home Association for 30 years. She opened a nursing home in her home in 1954 and later established Colonial Nursing Home. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Earl Sherrill of Decatur; four daughters, Jewell Greenley, Faye Tuck, Anne Harris and Mary Ester Glenn, all of Decatur; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Louis Tuck, Pat Sherrill, Michael Harris, Earl Glenn, Bill Collier and Jackie Paul Sherrill.
