LINDALE - Services for Mr. Johnny Mallory, age 69, of Lindale, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert Davenport, Dr. Bob Roberts and Bro. Charles Gilmore officiating. Interment will follow in the Sabine Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale. Johnny died Monday, May 25, 2009, at a Tyler hospice center. He was born in Lindale on Aug. 29, 1939, the son of John R. and Hazel Baldwin Mallory. Johnny graduated from Lindale High School, attended TJC and Texas A&M, and served in the National Guard. He began his career as a city manager in Lindale in 1972, including a short time in Grand Saline, and then retired from the city of Canton in 2004 after 16 years of service. He was a member of Mount Sylvan Baptist Church and the Lindale Masonic Lodge No. 848, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Monice Mallory, and by his father, John R. Mallory.

Johnny is survived by his spouse of 34 years, Ann Jordan Mallory of Lindale; mother, Hazel Mallory of Lindale; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Denise Mallory, Richard and Cynthia Bellar and Chris and Carrie Bellar, all of Lindale; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Nathan Hulsey of Lindale and LaDona and Robert Creagle of Teague; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Joyce Mallory of Lindale and Jack and JoNora Mallory of Round Rock; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Williams, James Mallory, Ryan Mallory, Bryan Bellar, Charles Mallory and Chris Mallory.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of East Texas HomePlace, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701; or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 130577, Tyler, 75713.
