27758 Temporary WO2 John William Kirby, 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment Age 31 from Sydney NSW. He went to Vietnam in 1966 as the CSM of D Company 6RAR. He won the Distinguished Conduct Medal for heroism at the Battle of Long Tan on 18th August 1966. He died of wounds when New Zealand artillery landed off target among his patrol in Phuoc Tuy on 6th February 1967.
