A veteran of World War II, Mr. Fischer had been employed with Prudential for 33 years before retiring five years ago. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church at Enochsburg.
Born in Shelby County Feb. 14, 1911, Mr. Fischer was the son of Frank H. and Elizabeth (Schoaf) Fischer. He married Elsie Davis in Indianapolis in1936 and she died Dec. 23, 1966. He married Kathryn (Heidlage) Munchel on Jan. 19, 1968, and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. J. P. (Joan) Morgan, of Greensburg Mrs. Gordon (Joyce) Pope of Greenfield and Mrs. Byron (Carol) Tetrick of Indianapolis; five stepchildren; 10 grandchildren, two brothers, Charles Fischer, R.R. 6, Shelbyville, and Carl Fischer, Shelbyville; and one sister, Mrs. John (Lillian) Pollman, R.R. 6, Shelbyville.
Two brothers precede in death.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greensburg, with the Revs. Aldric Heidlage, Benno Heidlage and Ambrose Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, and the Rosary will be recited there at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
