Harold Herbert Handrick, 64 of Giddings, passed away Thursday morning, May 7, 2009, at Oakland Manor Nursing Center in Giddings. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial followed in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
He was born on August 26, 1944 in Manheim, Texas to Herbert Otto & Clara Louise (Meier) Handrick. He was a fiberglass worker having been employed with Invader Boat Factory and most recently with L.F. Manufacturing both in Giddings.
Harold was preceded in death by his father; grandparents and a brother-in-law, Aubrey Hunter.
He is survived by his mother, Clara Handrick of Giddings; 4 sons, Mike and Sally Biar of Ledbetter, Corey and Brenda Handrick of Giddings, Christopher and Tina Handrick of Lexington and Shannon Handrick and Jackie Schroeder of Ledbetter; grandchildren, Shawn and Ashley Biar of Giddings, Ashley Biar of Giddings, Justin, Taylor and Ethan Handrick of Giddings, Brannon and Zachary Stamper of Lexington, Christina Handrick of Lexington, Zackary Handrick of Ledbetter and Clayton and Caydence Schroeder of Ledbetter; great grandchildren, Lilianna Biar and Shawnna Biar both of Giddings; 2 brothers, Allen and Victoria Handrick of Giddings and Herbert Handrick of Giddings; 4 sisters, Clarice and Howard Schneider of Houston, Karol Hunter of Hempstead, Ethel and Randy Powell of Virginia and Sheryl Pratt of Giddings as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church of Lincoln or the American Cancer Society.
